From November 29 to December 10, 2023, Jiahao Han performed three solo recitals at the International Telekom Beethoven Competition Bonn, one of the most distinguished piano competitions devoted to Beethoven’s music. Across the competition’s successive rounds, Jiahao presented a demanding and wide-ranging program—including Bach, Beethoven, Liszt, and Stravinsky—that demonstrated his command of large-scale musical architecture, expressive nuance, and pianistic virtuosity. His performances placed him among the top six semifinalists, marking an important achievement on an international stage closely associated with Beethoven’s legacy.

Jiahao’s performances in Bonn also received critical recognition from the German journal General-Anzeiger, which praised the dramatic force and refinement of his playing: “Jiahao Han from China offered a fantastic performance. A superbly shaped Beethoven sonata was followed by a terrifically mastered Liszt B minor sonata, transformed in an emotional drama.”
